Minecraft's New Competitive Mode Wants You to Push Your Friends Into Lava
Console editions of Minecraft get Tumble mode in a free update.
Equipped with a shovel and snowballs, Tumble players must destroy the ground under their enemies' feet by hitting blocks with their tools. It's a frantic fight to send opposing players into the lava pit below. It can be played by up to eight people who fight to be the last person standing. Check it out in the video below.
The Tumble minigame is free for all users on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, and Vita as part of an update available today. We've contacted Minecraft PR to ask if Tumble will make its way to PC. We'll update this article as we receive more information.
Additionally, a Boss Update was announced for the Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition beta, Pocket Edition, and Gear VR Edition. It's set to release this fall and features several new bosses including the Elder Guardian, the Wither, and more. The update also adds slash commands, which let you do things such as summon a mob, change the time of day, and control the weather.
Minecraft is now playable in VR through the Oculus Rift. The Minecraft app is now available in Oculus' digital store, and it's free to anyone who owns the Windows 10 Edition of the crafting game.
