Minecraft dev wants to settle lawsuit with Quake 3

someone needs to record this battle and put stream it online as it happens. It could possibly be the most wathced spectator event on the internet if someone does. Mojang Vs. Bethesda legal Quake 3 battle. It would be so epic.

Nice way to solve a lawsuit,much better than involving tons of money and crap :) Also,I would like to see a live stream of that match,or a recording after its done.

Methinks they have seen Undergrads too many times. They do just this in a episode of Undergrads, the one where Mump gets carpel tunnel syndrome from hacking trying to change a name to Chocolate Chip Chewbacca. Then Spud comes along and changes everything back to Star Trek (Gimpy hates Star Trek) like it was before Gimpy arrived, then they have a team deathmatch of Quake. With Nitz coming in at the end with Jessie and her group, does the "your all clear kid, now let's blow this place and go home" line from Star Wars Episode 4. The episode ends with then getting medals from Gimpy just like the end of Episode 4. Undergrads was a classic show that was cancelled way too soon.

@Killer2401: No matter how Notch makes Bethesda look, this lawsuit was a joke the moment it surfaced. I'm liking the idea that Notch isn't taking this seriously, because the gravity of the situation is that they're fighting over a word. The good thing that's come out of all this though is that Notch has shown that he remembers that games were always about having fun rather than lawsuits, legal proceedings, courtrooms, settlements and douchebaggery.

Lol Notch is a genious, he already got what he wanted, not only Minecraft is a famous game but now because of the legal fight no matter what happens to the game's title it will be famous. It's just brilliant

Notch is hardcore O_o Honestly... I love Bethesda... But they've just become another corporation. Notch is still just a guy, making games to have fun, and so I desperately hope he wins - regardless of how they settle it. (Who knows? Notch may be, like, a pro Quake 3 player, with several tournament trophies scattered around his house... xD)
