GameSpot has learned that Midway plans to release a PlayStation 2 version of its coin-op racing game CART Fury. The arcade version, unveiled at this year's E3 show, features authentic racers such as Christian Fittipaldi and Jimmy Vasser. Many of the tracks in the game are also based on real-life courses, with locations such as the street course in Toronto, Laguna Seca, and the Chicago Motor Speedway. There are also fictional courses such as the Skyway Fastrack and the Frankfurt Germany Fastrack. Despite its official licenses, the game has a decidedly arcade-style racing feel to it - with an emphasis on aggressive racing and outrageous crashes.

The PlayStation 2 version of the game will be released in Q2 2001. Specific gameplay elements of the PS2 version are currently unknown. GameSpot will continue to follow the game's development and will bring you full details when it is officially announced by Midway.
