The Gamers' Day gave editors a look at Midway's upcoming game lineup for this year and a sneak preview of its 2002 lineup as well. Acknowledging the passing of the company's arcade division, Helene Scheeler, vice president of marketing, kicked off the presentation by outlining the company's plans to develop exclusively for home consoles. In-depth presentations on Midway's upcoming fall lineup followed Scheeler, giving editors a look at Spyhunter, Arctic Thunder, Legion: The Legend of Excalibur, and NHL Hitz. The underlying theme of the presentations was Midway's commitment to multiconsole support since most of the PS2 titles shown will be headed to the Xbox and the GameCube.

Following the main presentations, a teaser trailer was shown, which gave glimpses of a new NFL Blitz game, an attack helicopter game called Fireblade, an Area 51 game, a character model of Scorpion from the upcoming Mortal Kombat game, an update of the arcade classic Defender, a new baseball title, a new bike game featuring branding from Gravity Games, titled Gravity Games Bike: Street. Vert. Dirt., and new titles that the company will officially unveil later this month. Press materials showed off shots of NFL Blitz 2002 for the Game Boy Advance and two new shots of Mortal Kombat, which gave another look at Scorpion and showed off Jax as well.

At the end of the day, Spyhunter PS2, Arctic Thunder PS2, Legion PS2, and playable versions of NHL Hitz on the PS2, GameCube, and Xbox were present for hands-on time. Check out our impressions 2805425here .
