Microsoft renews Killer Instinct trademark

Sounds more like its to protect the brand. Plus Rare has been long gone, MS ruined them and KI will most likely never be the same if it does come out. All in all, a sad loss.

Guess I'll nag my Xbox buddies to buy this, even though they don't care about Rare games. :x

i know alot of people will just about drool over this if it ever came out again. i work at a local used game store (not gamestop), and one of the titles we get asked for the most is killer instinct (both 1 on snes and gold on n64).

Killer Instinct is just one of those few arcade fighters you got to love and respect. Hopefully this will mean a new game is in the works.

REALLY hope this means a new title, or at least the original 2 are being ported for arcade release...

Oh man I played the crap out of Killer Instinct on the SNES.

I'd be happy with a proper revival of this franchise, but Rare is dismantled and I don't exactly trust Microsoft to give this task to a decent developer.

With the fighting game renaissance in bloom, it makes me wonder that Microsoft didn't do this sooner.

Being casually late is cool though, as would having both KI titles on XBLA. Here's hoping!

Killllllllllerrrr Commmmmbo! One awesome fighting game that saddened me to watch fade away into history. I can remember glitching the arcade machine out with Orchid and her spin kick combos.
