Metal Gear Solid V has 'vast' multiplayer mode

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will include a "vast" multiplayer mode, creator Hideo Kojima has confirmed in a new interview with CVG. He explained that this new mode will be developed by Kojima Productions' recently established Los Angeles studio in collaboration with the company's main outfit in Japan.

"Yes, we plan on creating Metal Gear Online," Kojima said. "Multiplayer right now is being created at our LA studio as well as us. We're working closely to create a vast multiplayer for all the fans."

No further information about the open-world game's multiplayer mode was divulged.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is currently in development for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. It will feature real-time weather, new stealth options, various modes of transportation (tanks, horses, cars), and is said to offer "unparalleled strategic freedom."

Kojima also recently revealed that the final version of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will look better than the trailer shown off during Microsoft's E3 briefing on Monday.

I read that it's black because they absorbe sunlight actually,

because it absorbes sunlight, the temperature change is more drastic to the surrounding area, and thus the movement of air.

this is possible because the black clothing is not tight fitting at all, unlike black Tshirts or something like that. black Tshirts would be terrible because the heated cloth comes in direct contact with your skin.

The "black robes" are to cover up females for modesty. Wearing black is actually a bad idea in hot weather because it absorbs more sunlight. Wearing something light in color and weight is best in a hot climate.

actually, in places like the desert, it is actually less hot when you cover up your skin, and stopping direct sunlight. thats why arab people mostly wear black robe like things, the sun heats up the clothe, and the temperature change makes air run through the clothe.

or so I read... never actually did it my self so.....

@GhostOfSparta4 @bluedeathking actually some people just have tan because of it which I don't see on her. Her skin is way to light to adapted to that type of environment from what I can see. If she that light skin I would expect her to start feeling her skin started to burn after 10 min.

Not really sure if I like the idea of this having a multiplayer. I mean this might sound ignorant and I'm not even that big of an MGS fan, since I haven't played them much, I just respect them a lot and would love to play them all. And this game getting a multiplayer doesn't have to mean the singleplayer won't be amazing and as good as it can be, especially since it's being made in a seperate studio, but if this game get's a multiplayer I really want it to be good and innovative. Not some gimmicky new mechanics or 'blurring the lines', but really something unique. Again I don't want to sound ignorant or pretentious or anything and perhaps a solid multiplayer mode would just be fine, just like Counter Strike's multiplayer is just fine. But I'd like this to be something special, just like how Journey's multiplayer was special.

@eBunny7 No worries dude. MP has been in MGS since the 3rd installment. The MP in this franchise has been truly unique and captivating. I wish you could check it out but they closed the servers. Just trust me. There will be no doubt that this version of MGO will be awesome.

@mosterslayer22 @eBunny7 MGO is great until everyone figures out the exploits and Konami just sits by idle and watches. I loved both MGO's with all my heart, but they were so broken it wasn't funny, and Konami never bothered to fix anything. Granted, Japanese developed games aren't exactly known for their online prowess, but since this is being made by the American studio, here's hoping the best for it.

I'd rather have them get the single player portion out first, then add this multiplayer mode in at a later date. I swear, if multiplayer is the reason this game doesn't come out til 2015 I'm gonna be really pissed off.

@atopp399 i am. im a grown ass man and i lost interest in single player.... as much as im a huge fan of metal gear since original nintendo........ grown up...... have work..... have school...... have girlfriends...... busy.... and lazy.... when come home always gotta kick ass online. no time for long immersive alone time in single player epic story game because got stuff to do. now when in online competitive its different. my taste in gaming change to competitive online.
