Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection delayed

Gamers looking to pick up the comprehensive Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection are going to have to wait a little longer.

Sony announced today the PlayStation 3-exclusive bundle will launch July 9 for $50. Previously, the collection was scheduled to launch in June. No reason for the delay was provided.

The Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection will be released to mark the franchise's 25th anniversary. The bundle includes Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: HD Edition, Metal Gear Solid 3: HD Edition (including the original MSX versions of the first two games), Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD Edition, Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions, and Metal Gear Solid 4: Trophy Edition.

On top of the games, the compilation pack will also include two Ashley Wood digital graphic novels for Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 2.

Upcoming Metal Gear Solid games include Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes. Release dates for both games have not been announced.

@Prime_28 Nintendo will be great, no need the snake game we have SONIC and we no need 1st party because we sonic. WiiU will cant handle graphic so wii stay back in corner and play it safe we dominate E3 with nothing to show we ok do we great sonic games.

@roman4545 That argument would make sense... if it were actually a large span of time between collection releases. The HD collection came out in Nov 2011. Jan 2012 for Europe and Aus. So basically a year ago.

My point is I already bought their collection. Because clearly there wouldn't be one so soon. Since this one does not feature every game I might as well wait for the real collection to come out.

@setzer_sz They may do it down the road. As a PS1 game it would have to be completely redone from the ground up, unlike MGS2 and 3 where they could simply clean up the textures and beef up the resolution, so it would take a lot of time and money.

@OHGFawx @setzer_sz Well they already did remake it. It's called The Twin Snakes and it game out on Gamecube back in 2004. I believe Nintendo owns the rights to it though.

@Superzone Just like Nintendo owns the rights to the Resident Evil remake. They were smart to commission those games. Its just a shame we can't get them in HD because of licensing issues.
