Mass Effect: Andromeda Won't Include All Original Trilogy's Species

We might not know a release date for Mass Effect: Andromeda, but we're learning more about it all the time. The latest snippet comes from Game Informer: not all the original trilogy's races will be in Andromeda--though they may show up in future Mass Effect games.

“We’ve designed the IP in such a way that they can all show up,” says creative director Mac Walters. “For hopefully obvious reasons, they’re not all going to show up in the first game.”

Don't worry though, you will still be meeting new people: Game Informer adds that more companions will join your ship, The Tempest, along the way. It's likely at least some of these will be from species not seen before.

Developer BioWare said recently that Mass Effect: Andromeda is the company's "biggest" game ever. There may be more Andromeda games on the way, too--though there won't necessarily be a trilogy.
