Marvel's Kevin Feige Gives Negative Update On His Star Wars Movie

The odds it happens are probably worse than successfully navigating an asteroid field.

A Star Wars movie from the mind of Marvel boss Kevin Feige sounds deader than Greedo. Case in point: The MCU mastermind outright denied he's working in a galaxy far, far away.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Feige was promoting The Marvels when he was asked about whether his Star Wars movie was happening. He quickly replied, "No." For those wondering, it was reported in 2019 that Feige was set to produce a Star Wars film. In fact, then-Disney co-chairman Alan Horn even put out a statement about the project: "With the close of the Skywalker Saga, Kathy [Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm] is pursuing a new era in Star Wars storytelling, and knowing what a die-hard fan Kevin is, it made sense for these two extraordinary producers to work on a Star Wars film together."

In 2021, Feige clarified his involvement in the Star Wars franchise, saying he was only working on a movie. Basically, he's known for having his hand in everything with the MCU, so there were rumors he might transition over to Star Wars at one point.

However, Kathleen Kennedy said earlier this year that she "never discussed an idea" with Feige about a Star Wars movie. To that note, there hasn't even been a new film in the franchise since Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in 2019. In April, Lucasfilm revealed three new Star Wars were on the way, including one starring Daisy Ridley as Rey.

Meanwhile, for Feige, The Marvels premieres in theaters this Friday, November 10.
