Marvel's Eternals has already struck up $9.5 million at the domestic box office in Thursday preview showings, according to Variety. The publication also crunched the numbers, ranking that early revenue as the third best result for the COVID era, just behind Black Widow ($13.2 million) and Venom: Let There Be Carnage ($11.6 million).

Internationally, Eternals has so far screened in 39 markets, and has already taken in an estimated $19.8 million in two days. Stateside, the movie finally hit theaters on November 5. You can check out the first reactions here. And of course, you can read GameSpot's review of Eternals right here.

The movie is directed by Nomadland's Oscar-winner Chloe Zhao, and the trailer suggests she will bring a different, more naturalistic visual style to many other Marvel Cinematic Universe films. Of course, it's still a big Marvel movie, so there's plenty of spectacular cosmic action and humor, as the Eternals take some weird and scary-looking adversaries.

Eternals stars Jolie as Thena, Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Gemma Chan as Sersi, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Kit Harington as Dane Whitman, Lia McHugh as Sprite, and Don Lee as Gilgamesh.

Elsewhere, and most recently in the MCU, actor Gael García Bernal (Old, Coco) was cast in an upcoming Halloween special from Marvel Studios for Disney+. The special's plot details are still completely under wraps.
