Gael Garcia Bernal To Star In Marvel Halloween Special At Disney Plus - Report

Production is expected to begin in early 2022, but plot details are still under wraps.

Actor Gael García Bernal (Old, Coco) is set to star in an upcoming Halloween special from Marvel Studios currently in the works at Disney+, according to The Wrap. There are no other concrete details yet about the plot or even title of this special, but it's being speculated that Bernal's character may be based on Werewolf by Night.

That name belongs to two different characters--Jake Russell and Jake Gomez. Both men had the ability to transform into a werewolf at will, while also retaining their human intellects. The special is expected to begin production in early 2022.

Since this early announcement is sparking a lot of fan and critic speculation, here's ours: One possibility is that this special could in some way be related to Marvel's Blade. But even as far as speculation goes, this is a real shot-in-the-dark guess since we still know next to nothing about Marvel's Blade, and won't for a while. Earlier this year, production on that film was pushed back to July 2022.

Marvel's Eternals will finally be hitting theaters on November 5, and you can check out the first reactions here. There's one last trailer, released recently, you can also check out. And of course, you can read GameSpot's review of Eternals right here.
