Marvel vs. Capcom 3 due Q2 2011 on PS3, 360
Long-rumored comic-book crossover fighting game will arrive next spring, with three-on-three tag teams, Evolved Vs. Fighting System; full trailer inside.
Following months of rumors, Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds has finally been confirmed. This morning, Capcom officially announced that the collaboration with Marvel Entertainment, the comic publisher that was bought by Disney last year, will arrive in spring 2011 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Like previous installments in the series, Marvel vs. Capcom 3 will be a fighting game that pits characters from the iconic comic book canon against heroes from such game series as Resident Evil and Street Fighter. The upcoming title will sport the "Evolved Vs. Fighting System," which will include aerial combos, hyper combos, and other new combos. It will also feature a three-on-three tag-team mode that will let players use each character's combat techniques in tandem.
Unfortunately, the Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds announcement did not offer a roster of which characters would be featured in the game. However, several personalities were shown off in a trailer accompanying the game, viewable below. On the Marvel side, these included The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man, and Wolverine. Capcom-wise, Ryu (Street Fighter), Morrigan Aensland (Darkstalkers), and Chris Redfield (Resident Evil) were on display.
No rating information is available for Marvel vs. Capcom 3, which is the first new entry in the series since 2002's Marvel vs. Capcom 2. (That game was ported to the PS3 and 360 last year as a downloadable title.) Its engine will be an updated version of Capcom's proprietary MT Framework engine used in last year's Resident Evil 5 and in Lost Planet 2, due out May 18.
