The first DLC pack for Mario Kart 8 continues to look very good. The latest aspect of it to be unveiled is the Excitebike Arena, a track based on the classic racing game's obstacle-laden course.
As you can see in the trailer above, the track is essentially a 3D version of what you'll remember playing in Excitebike: four lanes, lots of jumps, and the occasional patch of mud to slow you down. Much like the F-Zero kart included coming as DLC, this is quite possibly the only new Excitebike content you can expect to see in the near future from Nintendo, which has done nothing with the franchise outside of the 3D Classics release for 3DS in 2011.
The Zelda-themed DLC Pack 1 coming in November also includes three playable characters--Link, Tanooki Mario, and Cat Peach--four karts, and eight tracks. It's priced at $8 on its own, or $12 as part of a bundle that also gets you the Animal Crossing-themed DLC pack coming next year.
Nintendo just recently showed off two other aspects of next month's DLC: Link's Epona motorcycle and a classic Double Dash track. What we still don't know is a precise release date for any of this, but with November just days away, it shouldn't be long before we find out.
