Majesco announces Raze's Hell

Upcoming action shooter for the Xbox depicts a war between the ugly and adorable on an alien world.

Artech Studios knows that not every gamer wants a protagonist that's doe-eyed, fuzzy, and, well, nauseatingly cute. The developer is currently working on Raze's Hell, an action title that was announced by publisher Majesco today. Scheduled for release in the spring of 2005, the third-person shooter is an Xbox exclusive.

Raze's Hell is reminiscent of Rare's Conker's Bad Fur Day. Its uncomely hero Raze finds his homeworld overrun by adorable Sanrio-esque creatures called the Kewletts. Gamers will control Raze as he attempts to both rid the planet of the pretty newcomers and restore the landscape to its repulsive state. Along the way, Raze will travel to the capital city of Kewtopia to uncover the wicked plot devised by the leader of the Kewletts, the Princess.

Raze's Hell will feature 20 missions of cutesy carnage in single-player or split-screen multiplayer action. It will also feature Xbox Live game modes, a bizarre arsenal of weapons, and some comical, over-the-top deaths.

GameSpot will have more information on Raze's Hell as it becomes available.
