Unfortunately, it's not called M4GAN

The recently-released M3GAN, a horror movie about a sentient American Girl doll with a killer AI, has been greenlit to get a sequel, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Titled M3GAN 2.0, the follow-up is slated to hit theaters on January 17, 2025.

The script will be written by a returning Akela Cooper, and actors Allison Williams and Violet McGraw are all slated to return. Williams, who was an executive producer on the original, will now be a producer. The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that director Gerard Johnstone hasn't signed on yet, but unnamed sources are indicating they're hoping to strike a deal for his return. Similarly, it isn't known yet whether Amie Donald or Jenna Davis--the actors who portrayed M3gan physically and voiced the doll, respectively, will be involved in the sequel.

M3GAN has so far grossed $30.4 million domestically on its opening weekend, and has so far brought in $91.9 million worldwide.

Earlier this month, Cooper told the Los Angeles Times that the film originally was much gorier, had a higher body count, and deserves to have an unrated version out at some point in the future. That article also indicated that a sequel was already in development.
