Last week, Capcom held its Captivate 09 blowout event, offering new or updated looks at a number of its upcoming games, including Dead Rising 2, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Bionic Commando, and Dark Void. As part of that event, Lost Planet 2 producer Jun Takeuchi also offered a first look at Lost Planet 2, the sequel to 2007's well-regarded Lost Planet: Extreme Condition.

Along with offering a number of fresh new details on the project, Takeuchi revealed that gamers will soon have a chance of their own to go hands-on with the title. As part of his presentation, Takeuchi confirmed that a Lost Planet 2 demo is expected to arrive alongside a host of new details concerning the game as part of this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo, which runs June 2-4. Unfortunately, Takeuchi did not delve into any details of what gamers can expect from the sampler.

Thus far, Lost Planet 2 has been confirmed only for the Xbox 360. However, a month before the game was officially announced, Takeuchi told Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu that new installments in Dead Rising and Lost Planet "will be on multiple platforms."
