Lost Continents on hold

VR1 suspends development of its adventure-style massively multiplayer online role-playing game.

Comments

Colorado-based game developer VR1 has announced that it has suspended production of Lost Continents, its massively multiplayer online role-playing game inspired by the classic adventure stories of Jules Verne and the pulp adventure serials of the 1930s. The company is currently evaluating the game to determine whether the developer will be able to "do it justice."

Lost Continents is designed to let players assume the role of a hero and explore lost cities, fight off supernatural and sci-fi creatures, and uncover mysterious secrets. The game features a number of new features such as private zones, which let players choose who they play with.

Lost Continents was previously scheduled for release in 2003. VR1 is currently looking at every possible means to bring it to market. For more information, take a look at our previous coverage of the game.
