Lords of Shadow 2 PC version "almost like next-gen"
Konami producer Dave Cox says Windows version of upcoming action game would stand up well next to PS4 or Xbox One games.
The PC version of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 is closer to resembling an Xbox One or PlayStation 4 game than an Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 game, Konami producer Dave Cox said during a recent roundtable interview session attended by GameSpot.
"The PC version is almost like a next-gen version," Cox said. "The limitations of the [Xbox 360 and PS3]...we can push that back. We designed the game engine for next-gen in mind. We knew that this would be the last game we did on current-gen, so in many ways the PC version is almost like a test run for us."
Lords of Shadow 2 developer Mercury Steam is right now working on a new, non-Castlevania game for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, but not the Wii U. It has been suggested that this project, labelled "completely different" than Castlevania, is a new Contra game, but that is not confirmed.
