Lord of the Rings Supercut Is Nothing But Five Minutes Of Falling

Director Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy celebrates a massive milestone this year, as the first entry in the film series turns 20 years old in December. Originally released in 2001, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring set the tone for an adventure that starred a humble group of Hobbits embarking on a journey to destroy the One Ring that threatened all of Middle-earth. Naturally, there was a whole lot of falling, stumbling, and tumbles on the way to Mount Doom.

YouTube channel LOTR & Hobbit Edits tackled the task of showing just how cruel gravity is in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, creating a supercut of moments in the film that's nothing but a montage of intense plummeting action.

How much content is there in total? Almost five entire minutes of Hobbits collapsing, wizard nosedives, and a steep depreciation in Elves being able to maintain their center of gravity.

In other Lord of the Rings news, there are both good and bad updates for the franchise. The bad news is that Amazon has reportedly canceled its Lord of the Rings MMO game that it announced in 2019, likely due to a contract dispute.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, production on Amazon's Lord of the Rings TV series continues and even though one Amazon Studios executive declared a report of the show's rumored $465 million production budget to be nothing more than fake news, it's likely that the first season of the show wasn't cheap to make.
