The first images and details for the new The Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit 4K collection have emerged. According to GeekGab on Twitter, the new six-film collection will launch on October 5, and it'll include some bonuses and extras. The leaked artwork, which is apparently not final, shows that the bundle will come with a 250-page "The Art and Making Of" book, a replica of the Key to Erebor, and a replica of the One Ring that comes with a light-up Mordor stand.

What's more, all six movies will apparently come inside "premium packaging" that is modeled after a special chest you might find in Middle-earth. Here's a look at the leaked packaging:

This is apparently the new six-movie bundle that Warner Bros. announced in 2020. At the time, the company said the Ultimate Collector's Edition would feature all six movies and "new bonus content." The leaked artwork doesn't mention any new bonus content, however, apart from the physical extras.

In 2020, Warner Bros. released new 4K trilogy collections for The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, priced at $90 each. There is no word yet on how much the six-movie collection will cost.

2021 is a big year for The Lord of the Rings, as it marks the 20th anniversary of Peter Jackson's film series. In addition to the new six-movie collection, fans can look forward to a new The Lord of the Rings audiobook read by none other than Andy Serkis.

Looking beyond that, Amazon is working on a The Lord of the Rings TV show for 2022 (check out the first image here), while Warner Bros. is fast-tracking an animated The Lord of the Rings movie. A new video game focused on Gollum is also slated for release in 2022.
