Loba Is Apex Legends' Next Character, Launching With Season 5 Next Week
Though there's still no official word on Loba's abilities, her past as a thief will likely gear her towards an offense, support, or recon role.
With Apex Legends Season 5: Fortune's Favor just days away, Respawn has confirmed that Loba Andrade is the next playable character for the battle royale game. Alongside Loba's arrival, the game will be getting a new Quests mode, as well as the destruction of a landmark on Kings Canyon. You can see everything in the Season 5 launch trailer, with more to come as part of the Season 5 gameplay trailer that's arriving on May 8.
Like Octane, Wattson, Crypto, and Revenant before her, Loba was datamined prior to her official reveal--leading to fan speculation that she would ultimately become a playable legend in Respawn's battle royale game. However, there always was a nugget of doubt, given that Respawn included character files for Forge as a smokescreen to trick dataminers into thinking he would be Season 4's new character.
Loba's abilities haven't been detailed yet. However, on the Apex Legends website, Respawn describes the legend as, "Stylish, sophisticated, and resourceful, whatever Loba wants, she takes. Good luck stopping her." So her passive, tactical, and ultimate abilities could have something to do with finding and/or stealing loot--which would probably be a powerful addition to a battle royale game.
Loba and Quests won't be the only new additions in Apex Legends Season 5. The upcoming season will see the implementation of a new battle pass, which will include the traditional collection of items like legendary skins and Apex Packs, but also have brand-new rewards.
