The Pinocchio-themed Souls-like Lies of P looks to be one of the most novel games in the genre to date, and you have the chance to try it for yourself. A demo was announced as part of Summer Game Fest, and it's available right now on all platforms. It was also revealed that Lies of P will release on September 19. This is slight delay, as the game was originally set to launch in August.

The developer said it "needed a few more weeks to put the finishing touches on the game to provide the best experience possible at launch."

Now Playing: Lies of P - Official Release Date Trailer

The demo announcement came alongside a new trailer, showing off some of the world, as well as a glimpse at a few of the bosses you will encounter during your adventures. There was also a blue fairy that appeared to be an important NPC in Lies of P. The trailer also showed a few snippets of gameplay, including a few different weapons, like an umbrella that could block bullets. You can also check out an extended gameplay video further below.

Lies of P is developed by the South Korean studio Neowiz, which previously was known primarily for online games. In the game, you play as Pinocchio on a mission to find your father, Geppetto, in a hostile city filled with dangerous machines. Naturally, Pinocchio's habit of fibbing will work its way into Lies of P, but it remains unclear just how much things will change if you lie consistently. The game is planned to launch September 19 on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. It is also launching as part of Xbox Game Pass.
