Liam Neeson Thinks He's "Too F----ing Old" For Star Wars Return

Liam Neeson isn't sure about returning to live-action Star Wars.

Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace is celebrating its 25th year and is being rereleased in theaters for a limited engagement. That movie brought Liam Neeson's Qui-Gon Jinn into Star Wars lore but wasn't mentioned in the movies again until Revenge of the Sith three years later. Qui-Gon's mentions and appearances in live-action media are rare compared to even the man who killed him, Darth Maul, and Neeson is looking to make them even rarer.

After two decades, Neeson appeared in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series on Disney+ as a Force ghost and gives his former Padawan some typical sage-like advice, but could we see him again soon? The Oscar-nominated actor doesn't think so.

Speaking to Screen Rant, Neeson discussed the possibility of a live-action return to Star Wars, but he thinks he's past all that. "I enjoyed very much being with Ewan and George Lucas on The Phantom Menace," Neeson said. "We shot that 26 years ago! Would I do it again? I don't think so. Too f---ing old, ya know? I can't see the situation, I really can't, you know?"

Along with the Obi-Wan cameo, Neeson also voiced Qui-Gon in the Tales of the Jedi series for Disney+, so it's likely he is just ruling out any live-action returns. The Disney+ shows have brought back several prequel trilogy stars such as Jimmy Smits as Bail Organa, former Jar Jar Binks actor Ahmed Best as Jedi Master Kelleran Beq, and, of course, Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader.
