Last Sentinel Announced With Gripping Debut Trailer

Lightspeed LA announced its debut game, Last Sentinel, at The Game Awards. The game takes place in a future dystopian Tokyo, Japan and follows Hiromi Shoda, an apparent freedom fighter.

A cinematic trailer showed a group of young schoolchildren being terrorized by encroaching humans, shielded by their robotic matriarchs. When those fall, though, they explain that it will be okay because "the demon" is here. Cue the heroine Hiromi Shoda, who makes short work of the troops and rescues the children. The trailer did not give platforms or a release date for Last Sentinel.

Lightspeed LA is a new studio under the banner of Lightspeed Studios, and headed up by Steve C. Martin. Martin's credits include GTA 5, Red Dead Redemption 1 and 2, Need for Speed Underground, and Bully. The development team also includes vets from The Last of Us and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

Martin.
