Pokemon Go support has finally been added to Pokemon Home, and to celebrate its arrival, a special event is now underway in the mobile game. For a limited time, Pokemon Go players everywhere have a chance to complete new Research tasks and catch some rare Pokemon, including the elusive Shiny Meltan. You'll need to act quickly if you're hoping to get one, however, as the event ends in only a few hours.

The Pokemon Home event runs until 10 PM local time today, November 23. Throughout the event, the following Pokemon will appear in the wild more frequently than usual:

  • Alolan Sandshrew
  • Zubat
  • Alolan Diglett
  • Slowpoke
  • Magnemite
  • Ditto
  • Porygon
  • Hoothoot
  • Remoraid
  • Whismur
  • Lileep
  • Anorith
  • Cottonee
  • Foongus

On top of that, Shiny Slowpoke will be appearing throughout the event. Alolan Vulpix, Shinx, Timburr, Klink, and other Pokemon will also be featured as Raid bosses, while Nidoran, Omanyte, Kabuto, Anorith, and more will be hatching from 5 km eggs.

Shiny Meltan is also returning as part of the Pokemon Home event. You'll have a chance to encounter a Shiny version of the Mythical Pokemon when you open the Mystery Box during the event. Niantic notes that Shiny Meltan "will go back into hiding" after the event concludes, so you won't want to miss your chance to capture one. You can read more about how to summon and catch the Mythical Pokemon in our Meltan guide.

Beyond the increased Pokemon spawns, there will also be event-exclusive Timed Research and Field Research tasks during the Pokemon Home event. Among the rewards you'll receive for completing these tasks will be Pidgeot Mega Energy. If you Mega Evolve Pidgeot during the event, the powered-up Pokemon will also receive a CP boost.

Finally, Niantic is introducing a few new avatar items as part of the Pokemon Home event. You'll be able to get a Melmetal Jacket, Melmetal Vest, Grand Oak glasses, and other clothing items from the Style Shop. You can read more about the event on the official Pokemon Go website.

As previously mentioned, Pokemon Go players can now directly transfer Pokemon from the mobile game to Pokemon Home. The process works a little differently than transferring Pokemon from other games, however, so we've outlined how to transfer Pokemon from Go to Home. Everyone who brings a monster over from the mobile game will receive a special gift as well: a Gigantamax-capable Melmetal.

Coinciding with the Pokemon Home event, three Legendary Pokemon are returning to Pokemon Go: Terrakion, Cobalion, and Virizion. The Swords of Justice will appear in five-star Raids again from November 16-24. Niantic is also holding a Magmar Community Day this Saturday, November 21.
