No Caption Provided Guerrilla Games' PlayStation 3-exclusive Killzone 3 was released in late February to warm critical reception. The sci-fi shooter later added the Retro and Steel Rain map packs. Now, the game's multiplayer universe is growing further with a new add-on due out next week.

Debuting on the PlayStation Network on June 21 will be the From the Ashes map pack for Killzone 3. The $5 content includes four maps: two for the game's Guerrilla Warfare mode and two for its Warzone mode.

Killzone 3 adds new maps on Tuesday.
Killzone 3 adds new maps on Tuesday.

The new Guerrilla Warfare map is Mobile Factory, which is set on a moving resource production facility. The fresh Warzone environment is Lente Missile Base, which takes place inside an abandoned missile base at the edge of the Kaznan Jungle.

Guerrilla's announcement of the content noted that From the Ashes would be composed of four maps. However, only two were revealed in the announcement on the PlayStation Blog. The other two maps will be shown "soon," according to Guerrilla Games.

In addition to the new content, gamers who missed out on the first two batches of add-on content can grab both packs and the new From the Ashes content for a bundled rate. The Retro, Steel Rain, and From the Ashes map packs will be bundled into a $10 DLC Bundle Pack, set to go on sale on Tuesday as well.

@KaBo0m Maybe playing the same old shooter over and over again might get boring? Also if you haven't noticed yet, but there is an obvious difference between "Sci-Fi" and MODERN shooters. Two different genres, don't compare the two, you don't compare Twilight to Halo now do you? Unless of course your just too simple minded to understand such concepts, you probably have the "let's go nuke everything to solve our problems!" mindset in this world like so many kinder-gardeners have nowadays.

It is kind of annoying how COD is being mentioned so much in the comments. This is Killzone. Stop talking about COD.

Guerilla and Sony know how to treat their customers...this is awesome...I got both the first two for free (PS+) and this one's only five dollars...just one of many reasons I play Killzone as my go to shooter.

1/3 of CoD's map packs, and this is not shovelware either. Each map is unique and designed to be played in a very specific way. Props to both Sony and Guerrilla for having such a low price, a reasonable price, on the KZ3 DLC's. But I really want to see more Operations maps. :(

Oooh nice. Funny I was browsing through the PS store a minute ago and I was JUST wondering if there will be another kz3 map pack. Might get the bundle if that will be like 8 maps for 10 bucks total.

This might be the first Killzone 3 DLC we'll actually have to spend money on, since the first one was a preorder bonus, free codes, and you can get the second one with PlayStation Plus right now. Not bad.
