Justin.tv has officially ceased operation as of the 6th of August 2014 as Twitch Interactive will switch its entire focus to Twitch.tv amid reports of a Google buyout. Twitch.tv, which was launched in 2011 as a gaming streaming platform eventually grew and surpassed its parent site to the extent that Justin.tv re-branded itself to Twitch Interactive earlier this February. The majority of Twitch Interactive's resources were focused on Twitch.tv. As of the date of writing, Justin.tv has officially closed and Twitch Interactive's sole focus will be on the video game streaming website.

Justin.tv promises that all pre-existing subscriptions will either be refunded or moved to twitch. They also state that all user accounts will either be closed or moved to twitch if the user requests a move. No mobile applications, APIs, tools or any other components of Justin TV will continue to operate and recorded videos will not be moved to twitch due to Twitch's exclusive focus on video game related streaming.
