After making her surprise MCU debut in Falcon and The Winter Soldier, TV icon Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Seinfled, Veep) is beyond stoked for her role in the upcoming Thunderbolts. In a new Variety profile, Louis-Dreyfus shared her excitement.

Above all else, Louis-Dreyfus says, she is hoping to have fight scenes in the movie. "I told them I really, really want to fight," she said. "We’ll see if that happens. I haven't seen the script yet." Then, when thinking about the possible physical demands of a Marvel role, Louis-Dreyfus added, "Ugh. I guess I'd better get in shape."

When Marvel's Thunderbolts movie was announced at last year's D23, it was confirmed that David Harbour's Red Guardian would be part of the ensemble, which includes Wyatt Russell's US Agent and Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova, the second Black Widow. In an interview last fall, Harbour told io9 that the movie will be "funny, it'll be weird, it'll be action. And then we're also going to drop a bomb, which is cool."

Aside from those details, and as Louis-Dreyfus mentions about not having seen a script herself yet, it's still a mystery what the movie's plot will be. In Thunderbolts, it's being speculated that an antihero team will assemble under Louis-Dreyfus' character's--the nefarious Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine--orders. Before this movie, all that was known for sure was following Louis-Dreyfus' surprise cameo in Falcon and The Winter Soldier, both she and Marvel were outspoken about finding some bigger role for her in the MCU--which is what Thunderbolts is slated to become.

Thunderbolts is scheduled to hit theaters on July 26, 2024.
