Dismissing a gold announcement posted today on the Web site of online retailer EB Games as premature, a LucasArts representative said today that Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, its upcoming Star Wars action game, is on track to go gold later this week.

Jedi Knight II, which is powered by the Quake III engine, will let players assume the role of Jedi knight Kyle Katarn and battle the forces of the Empire. The game was developed by Raven Software, and it is scheduled for release in early April. For more information, take a look at our previous coverage of the game.
