It Chapter 2's Final Trailer Brings Back Pennywise To Terrorize The Losers
The latest look at It teases some scenes from the book, as well as new scares.
The new, final trailer for It: Chapter 2 is here to coincide with Comic-Con 2019. The movie follows on from 2017's hugely successful Stephen King adaptation and it hits theaters in September 2019. You can watch the trailer above or dive deeper with our It: Chapter 2 trailer breakdown that examines new scenes, those inspired by the book, and more.
The new trailer shows a few things fans of the book can expect to see in the upcoming movie, including a hint of the Adrian Mellon scene, in which two homophobic Derry residents attack a gay man--only to throw him right into the waiting arms of Pennywise. We also get a few looks at the monstrous clown as he goes after the adults who almost killed him 27 years earlier, and he doesn't seem to be holding back in claiming new victims. One scene that isn't in the book, set in a funhouse during a fair in Derry, finds the adult Bill Denbrough (James McAvoy) trying to save a young boy from the clown in a hall of mirrors.

It: Chapter Two also stars Jessica Chastain as Beverly, Bill Hader as Richie, James Ransone as Eddie, Andy Bean as Stan, and Isaiah Mustafa as Mike. Bill Skarsgård returns as Pennywise, one of the guises of the terrifying interdimensional entity of the title. The movie releases on September 9.
The movie also featured last night, July 17, at New Line Cinema's annual Scarediego event at San Diego Comic-Con. As well as the new trailer, fans got a chance to see three clips from the film. These include the iconic scene in which the adult versions of the characters meet for the first time at a restaurant in Derry, plus a longer version of the funhouse scene in trailer. In related news, a new TV version of King's fantasy series The Dark Tower is on the way. A movie adaptation arrived a few months before the first It movie in 2017 but flopped at the box office. This new version is being overseen by former Walking Dead showrunner Glen Mazzara and is being produced for Amazon.
