At a press event held earlier this week in Bend, Oregon, developer and publisher SCEA gave GameSpot editors an in-depth look at the unique online features found in Syphon Filter: The Omega Strain. The event included demonstrations of the game’s single-player and online cooperative modes.

The development team, which still includes a large number of original Syphon Filter coders, programmers, and designers (including creative director John Garvin) were on hand to take questions and provide insight into what went into the game over its three-year development history.

During the course of their presentation, the dev team let slip one interesting revelation. They said while The Omega Strain might be the final chapter in the story line that previous games have followed, there will definitely be more Syphon Filter games to come.

Syphon Filter: The Omega Strain is due in stores this May. The Omega Strain GameSpace provides complete coverage of the game. The GameSpot Live hub page is the home for today's special developer interview--or view it via the link below.
