Infogrames to Absorb Accolade

Infogrames announced Monday that it is consolidating its North American holdings - including the US division of Infogrames and the newly purchased Accolade - into Infogrames North America.

Former chairman and CEO of Accolade Jim Barnett will become CEO and president of the new division. Infogrames will move into Accolade's offices, but the move won't be far - both companies are based in San Jose, Calif. The company estimates that the US office will have roughly 175 employees when the move is completed this summer, though exactly how many will be let go because of the consolidation is unknown.

"Jim's experience in the industry will help drive the company to become the global leader in the interactive entertainment software market."
