Idol But Not Idle

Idol Minds sets its sights on developing titles for Sony Interactive Studios.

If you follow game development, you might be interested in Idol Minds, a company that was formed April 1 by Mark Lyons and Scott Atkins - both formerly with Sony Interactive Studios America. Located in Colorado, Idol Minds is working on developing titles for Sony Interactive Studios America.

The founders of the company, Lyons and Atkins, worked on some of Sony's high-profile sports games, including Rally Cross, ESPN Extreme Games, and NFL Game Day. While the titles that they're working on are currently being kept quiet, it wouldn't be much of a stretch to guess that they will be sports titles.

The company's 11-person staff (filled mostly with newcomers to game development) has picked a choice spot to work. The backdrop of the Rockies will no doubt provide inspiration for the games Idol will be designing and gamers will be playing in 1998 and beyond.
