Icewind Dale II goes gold
Interplay announces that the sequel to Black Isle's D&D-based role-playing game is complete and will ship next month.
Interplay has announced that Icewind Dale II has gone gold, meaning that the game is complete and is being prepared to ship to retail. The sequel to Icewind Dale, which was released in 2000, will use the core rules of Dungeons & Dragons 3rd Edition. The game adds a variety of new weapons, armor types, and magical items, as well as 3rd Edition special abilities, such as power attack and weapon finesse. There are also new character classes, such as barbarian and sorcerer, and new races, including the drow dark elves and the celestial aasimar. There are more than 50 new spells in the game.
Icewind Dale II is set to ship in early September. For more information, check out our previous coverage of the game.
