Hunting Title Borrows Unreal Elements

In a world of unnatural acts, the marriage of value-priced hunting titles and the deathmatching daring-do of the Unreal engine might be the strangest.

It seems so natural - TNN, a hunting game... and Unreal? OK, maybe it doesn't seem very natural.

Nonetheless, word has reached us that TNN Outdoors Pro Hunter (being developed by ASC Games, the team behind the recent Sanitarium title) will incorporate the Unreal 3D engine.

Steve Grossman, CEO of ASC Games, says, "Since TNN Outdoors Pro Hunter is using the most advanced 3D technology available, I believe that the game will not only appeal to the casual gaming market and the hunting enthusiast, but also attract fans of first-person shooters and other hard-core gamers."

The game includes the ability to hunt for nine types of prey: rabbit, quail, squirrel, deer, elk, turkey, duck, dove, and geese (and the opportunity to be distracted by such nuisances and possible game as chipmunks and birds). Players can use 12 different weapons, attachments, hunting gear, and equipment and can even use hunting dogs to track their prey. There will also be a multiplayer mode, allowing users to hunt "intournament-style play."

The game is slated for a November release.
