Comments

Dead Island 2 promised at least two story content DLC packs in its expansion pass, and the first of them, the Haus DLC, is now here. If you want to investigate the bizarre, post-apocalyptic murder cult yourself, you'll first need to know how to start the Haus DLC, but the game doesn't telegraph it too well. Here's what you need to do.

Dead Island 2 - How to start Haus DLC

The first thing you'll want to do is ensure you've purchased the game's Gold Edition, the expansion pass, or the Haus DLC. Naturally, we expect you have done this already if you're reading this now, but we mention it just in case, as the Haus DLC is not a free update.

Next, ensure you've installed the latest patch, which unlocks the DLC for play. If you're on game version 1.4.110.3923, you've got the latest update installed. If not, make sure to install it, then boot up the game.

You'll be heading to a new area for this DLC, but you'll start it in the Bel-Air region, specifically in Emma Jaunt's mansion, so put on your Fresh Prince cosplay and go home to Bel-Air. Look on your map for an orange icon near Emma's tennis court, then head to it where you'll find an invitation on a table, as seen below.

The Haus DLC focuses on a high-end lap-of-luxury death cult, so don't be confused by the classy display. It's going to be as gory and grotesque as you recall from the base game. Once you've interacted with that icon, you'll be on the proper path to experience the Haus DLC.

Dead Island 2 Haus DLC not showing up

If you've performed all these steps and still can't find the orange icon in Bel-Air, please note that there appears to be a bug preventing some Haus DLC owners from accessing this first mission according to both our own experience and the replies to this post on X (formerly Twitter) from the official Dead Island account. We'll update this guide when this issue has been fully resolved.
