Sleeping at an inn is common in Dragon's Dogma 2. You do need to shell out gold each time. Still, there's a way for you to have your own abode. Here's our guide on how to buy your own house in Dragon's Dogma 2.

How to buy a house in Dragon's Dogma 2

You can purchase two houses in Dragon's Dogma 2, and they're both in Vernworth. One is almost a joke, and the other has a somewhat affordable price. First, there's the house in the Noble's Quarter, which is being sold by a man named Salvatore. He offers you the "fair" price of 200,000 gold. That's a big "nope" if you ask us. The other option is Mildred's house, which can be yours for a significantly lower price.

Yeah... nah.
Yeah... nah.

You can find Mildred at the alleyways just east of the tavern where you usually have a chat with Commander Brant. She'll automatically call your attention if you walk past her.

Note that Mildred mentions how often she sees you at the inn. As of the time of this writing, we can't confirm if there's a hidden trigger depending on how many times you've rested at the inn in Vernworth.

In any case, Mildred wants you to stay in her house for seven days while she's away. You might think that going out on an adventure and returning at the proper time to sleep would be a good idea, but we advise you not to do that. Instead, just sleep on the bed for seven consecutive days. Choose "sleep until morning" each time, and maybe sleep an extra day just to be safe.

Once you've met the requirements, Mildred will speak with you outside her home. She'll then offer to sell it for 20,000 gold. Hopefully, you have more than enough money at this stage of the campaign.

A house for 20,000 gold is definitely a steal.

In any case, this is how you can buy a house in Dragon's Dogma 2. It has a bed and a storage chest, so it functions just like an inn, and you don't even have to spend gold each time you need to rest. Moreover, purchasing this abode nets you an achievement called "A House? In This Economy?" Lastly, if you've increased your affinity/romanced a major character, they may leave a note with a reward outside your door.

Fierce foes and loyal companions await you as you journey onward in Dragon's Dogma 2. For other tips and strategies, you can visit our guides hub.
