Horror movie producer Jason Blum of Blumhouse Productions has teased that he is "definitely" looking to find more popular video games that can be turned into horror movies. Blumhouse has a few in the works already, including the Five Nights at Freddy's and Dead by Daylight movies.

"I think the right video games make great source material for movies," Blum told Discussing Film. "I mean, you saw that even with [The Super Mario Bros. Movie]. It's a different genre [than horror], but it was an amazingly successful movie. And I certainly hope that's the case [with Five Nights at Freddy's]. I'm definitely looking forward to finding more games that are popular and that we could turn into horror movies."

Blum did not name any specific game franchises that he'd like to see made into movies, but there are plenty of possibilities.

Also in the interview, Blum mentioned how Saw and Insidious co-creator James Wan is a "big gamer." That's why Blumhouse and Wan's Atomic Monster production company are teaming up to work on a project for Blumhouse's new video game division.

The Five Nights at Freddy's movie, which stars Matthew Lillard and Josh Hutcherson, releases just before Halloween this year. Check out the newest trailer above. As for the Dead by Daylight film, it is earlier in the production process and doesn't have a cast, trailer, or release date yet.
