Homeworld Officially Launched

Relic brings friends and fans together to launch Homeworld.

What do game developers do when they're finished with the tiring task of creating one of the most highly anticipated games of the year? They party. And so Relic Entertainment, Sierra Studios, and WON.net gathered game journalists and fans to play some Homeworld against one another while dancing to the turntables of DJ Midnight in a small club in San Francisco's Mission District.

Relic's CEO and figurehead, Alex Garden, still buzzing after completing the game, played host to partygoers and fans online via web cameras and an online chat. And in wild party fashion, the ever-dapper Garden shocked the crowd with a new platinum-blond hair color. When asked about the early sales of the game, he said that over 30,000 copies were already sold - a good sign.

What now? Alex and his crew are already working on a secretive new game concept that is very unlike Homeworld. We'll find out what's next for Relic later next year.
