This morning, Sierra Studios publicly announced that Homeworld, its upcoming 3D space real-time strategy - which is currently in development by Relic Entertainment - will make use of Sonnetech's 3Deep gamma correction technology for 3D games. In the case of Homeworld, Sonnetech's 3Deep provides accurate lighting, shading and color depths on all the game's 3D models and objects.

"I didn't think it was possible," commented Sierra director of marketing Jim Veevaert. "But Sonnetech's 3Deep technology really makes Homeworld look even more amazing on any given computer screen."

Sonnetech itself has been showing off its handiwork in Homeworld since this year's E3. 3Deep has been used by STB as part of its nVidia TNT-powered Velocity 4400 software and driver bundle. Homeworld is slated to ship worldwide on September 1.
