Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman 2 gets a name change
NIS America dubs PSP strategy sequel "What Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord!?" citing "conflict of interest" with an existing IP; original game to be pulled from PSN and replaced.
When Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman! What Did I Do to Deserve This? Debuted on the PSP last year, the NIS America-published strategy game garnered a good deal of attention for its peculiar name. Not all of the attention was positive, and NIS America today said it has chosen to change the game's title due to "a conflict of interest with an existing IP."
The game's new name is What Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord!? According to the publisher, the name change applies both to last year's release as well as the upcoming retail sequel, now called What Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord!? 2.
The publisher declined to specify what that intellectual property was. However, the game's title is most directly a play off the original Batman TV series and the adaptable catchphrase of the caped crusader's sidekick, Robin.
As of press time, Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman! is still available on the PlayStation Store, though NIS America said the game would be pulled "within weeks" and reposted once the name change could be implemented. The name change is also disrupting the publisher's plans for What Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord!? 2, causing the game to be delayed until May 4.
Developed by Acquire (Way of the Samurai 3, Tenchu: Stealth Assassins), the What Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord!? series of strategy games has players managing an evil demon's dungeon. As a parade of foolish heroes venture forth into the dungeon, players must carve out new passages and manage complex food chain interactions to breed monsters capable of staving off the intruding do-gooders.
