As part of The Game Awards, Hideo Kojima announced his next game. As rumored, it's called OD, and it's being developed in partnership with Xbox. Oscar-winning director Jordan Peele (Us, Get Out) is collaborating with Kojima on the game.

Peele said it's "unlike any other game; it's going to be crazy." The game will feature performances by actors Hunter Schafer, Sophia Lillis, and Udo Kier.

Kojima said his studio, Kojima Productions, is working with Xbox Game Studios and using their cloud gaming technology to make an "immersive" game that's unlike anything that's come before it.

"It is a game, but at the same time a movie," Kojima said through a translator.

The official description for OD states: "A Hideo Kojima game, OD explores the concept of testing your fear threshold, and what it means to OD on fear--while blurring the boundaries of gaming and film."

There is no word yet on when OD might arrive. It's one of at least two games in development at Kojima Productions, the other being the sequel to Death Stranding.
