Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury launches on Nintendo Switch next month, and it'll release alongside new Amiibo figures of Cat Mario and Cat Peach. Those aren't the only figures it will be compatible with, however. Nintendo has confirmed that the game will also work with the Bowser and Bowser Jr. Amiibo, and they'll each have a special function.

Nintendo revealed via a press release that the Cat Mario and Cat Peach Amiibo "will offer in-game enhancements" when scanned. Cat Mario will let you transform into the invincible White Cat suit, while Cat Peach will give you a random power-up. The Bowser and Bowser Jr. figures, meanwhile, will "have special activations" in the Bowser's Fury portion of the package. According to the game's official website, scanning the Bowser Amiibo makes Fury Bowser appear, and scanning the Bowser Jr. figure unleashes a shockwave attack.

The Cat Mario and Cat Peach Amiibo will go on sale at various retailer on February 12, the same day the game launches. The Bowser and Bowser Jr. Amiibo will also be restocked, giving you another chance to snag the figures if you previously missed them.

Super Mario 3D World first released for Wii U in 2013. This Switch port comes accompanied by an entirely new component called Bowser's Fury, which Nintendo finally showcased this week in a new trailer. This portion of the game has players exploring a new, open-ended level alongside Bowser Jr., clearing platforming challenges and taking on a rampaging, Godzilla-sized version of Bowser. You can read more about the title in our Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury preorder guide.

That wasn't the only Mario news that Nintendo had to share recently. The company revealed a special Mario edition Nintendo Switch console, which will go on sale on February 12. A new Mario 35th anniversary pin set and Super Mario Bros. 35 event were also announced, and those who participate in the event can earn 350 My Nintendo Platinum points.
