HD God of War I & II due this holiday

Wish I had a PS3.

Meh on the God of War thing. I always thought Heracles: Battle With the Gods was a better game. I guess can be a good thing for PS3 owners though. Things are heating up.

Not a bad deal. I rented both of them when they came out. If the pawn shop by me has a PS3 around then, I'll pick it up

always wanted to play these 2 games, but since my ps2 only worked whenever it wanted to and was almost dead, i never had the chance of enjoying it! now i finally will be able to kill everything in sight without looking for the "other right game" of this sort! =D

Metal Gear Solid Remake 1,2,& Please!!!

This is such a good idea. Even better idea than the Metroid Prime Trilogy release. Totally buying it because the experience of playing through those two games was so bloody awesome. One of the most exciting, crazy, kinetic and violent games ever.

Awesome. HD GOW in PS3 ASAP, LOL. But why 720p, PS3 has been out for so much time, and still so very few games with 1080p support. This suks. Oh well, two new HD revamped games for the price of a used one is great. Especially HD GOW in PS3.

Maybe that's why they refused to make the PS3 Slim backwards compatible... it opens up the way for so much more milkage from tarting up old franchises.

I'm with you Midnightshade, perhaps this paves the way for future bundled deals. After all, the only thing better than playing through your favourite PS2 games, is doing so with trophies and in HD!

Day 1 purchase.. and I own both... this is freaknin amazing! More like this sony! WE want ICO collection, MGS collection , FF collecion all the DMC collection, etc.etc.. in hd with trophies!! If everyone buys this they'll do it!

Nice. Hope they up the textures too. Otherwise, the game's gonna look a little underwhelming. Hell, it'll be sharp and smooth, but it won't look too amazing.

I hope that Resident Evil IV be remastered by Capcom for the PS3, excellent game, a lot better than Resident Evil V...in my opinion...

Wow, great move by sony, how I wished Resident Evil IV and Burnout Takedown do the same... There are so many Hall of Fame titles in PS2, I hope these publishers start to realize that they can still earn by remastering their famous ps2 titles into HD for the PS3, people will still buy for collection purposes...

@Sendmn23: If you're gonna try to post another "logical" complaint, please consider the situations of ALL consumers ... not everyone is like you. In fact, most people are not like you. This is a great value for two great games. People who haven't played GOW before, for whatever reason, and have a PS3 with no BC, have a great alternative to buying a PS2 to play these games. And to release this a few months before the much anticipated GOW3 releases is great for Sony and the consumers alike. Maybe this re-release is a rip-off to YOU, but many people will appreciate this. I own and thoroughly enjoyed GOW1 and 2, and I'm still gonna get this because $40 is a great value IN MY OPINION.

is this for download or do you have to buy it at a store because if its for download, that would make it even better

Now see, this is what they should've done for the Devil May Cry, Resident Evil, Metal Gear Solid, and King of Fighters collections they put out. Redo them in HD with trophy support, and I guarantee folks will snatch those bishes up quick. Why publishers don't see that PS1 and PS2 games are still near and dear to our collective gaming hearts is beyond me.

i have the first one on ps 2 i must get round to finishing it because it is a good game but my xbox 360 takes up most my gaming time.

its fantastic news and i`ll problee buy it, if and when it comes out in the uk, but why oh why cant they add software compat. to the current ps3`s, i only want it for gow 1 and 2 and the mgs 2 & 3, i suppose now this has been announced they wont bother.

This is similar to the metroid trilogy. Looks like sony is bringing good competition. So many good deals from sony now.

@ -KU- - of course it'll be out for PS3 and PS3 Slim - they're the same machines, just one weighs less than the other and is cosmetically different... it's not like PSPGo that can only have downloadable games and no UMDs, any game that comes on PS3 will play on any version of their console. I agree with some that they should whack in Chains of Olympus too... that'd be just awesome to play in 1080p

While this deal is awesome, it would be an epic WIN if they bundled 1,2 and 3 plus Chains of Olympus for one massive bundle. Throw in a miniature Kratos and it will sell like hotcakes. they are doing it for Assassin's Creed (the statue thing) so why can't they do it with GOW? I got the red PSP, the GOW trilogy would make my day.

I will buy this as soon as it get out. They are my favorite games in PS2 and one of the reasons I choose PS3 instead of XBOX 360,besides Shadow of Colossus...with uncharted, LBP and Trico...i love this system...I just wanted the models and textures get a make up too...but it is great anyway...
