After receiving three nominations, HBO's The Last of Us failed to win any awards at The Golden Globes over the weekend. The critically acclaimed show came up short in all of its categories to Succession.

The Last of Us was nominated for best TV series (drama), best performance by a male actor in a TV drama (Pedro Pascal), and best performance by a female actor in a TV drama (Bella Ramsey). The Hollywood Reporter notes Succession ended up winning best drama TV series, with the show's Kieran Culkin and Sarah Snook beating out Pascal and Ramsey, respectively. In fact, Variety posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) that Culkin playfully told Pascal to "suck it."

Now Playing: The Last Of Us TV Show vs Game Comparison

However, The Last of Us did fare better at the Creative Arts Emmys. The show based on the PlayStation video game franchise brought home eight awards. Actor Nick Offerman (who played Bill) won for outstanding guest actor in a drama series, while Storm Reid (who played Riley) nabbed the award for outstanding guest actress in a drama series.

Speaking of Offerman, he said a Last of Us prequel series based on Bill and Frank has been pitched to HBO. "I think we pitched a whole mini-series of a prequel of their lives before they met each other," the actor told Deadline. "It could be a musical. We're not short on ideas."

The Last of Us: Season 2 is set to arrive in 2025, with production planned to begin early this year. When the HBO series returns, Abby from the game The Last of Us: Part II will be the biggest addition to the main cast. An actress has already been chosen for the role but still hasn't been officially announced.
