After torturing movie audiences in cinematic sewage like Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Anaconda III, David Hasselhoff is himself going to be put in Pain. On November 6, the kitschy star--whose actual career highlights include Knight Rider and Baywatch--will become a downloadable character in the PlayStation 3's sandbox sadism title.

In addition to hurling Hasselhoff headfirst through the game's original downtown environment and its amusement park add-on, Pain players will be able to launch the TV star awkwardly into a whole new level's worth of dangerous objects. The November 6 update to the PlayStation Store will include the Movie Studio add-on for Pain ($5.99), allowing gamers to wreak havoc on a handful of movie sets spoofing a wealth of popular genres.

In a nod to his recording career, Hasselhoff also agreed to record a new song for his Pain debut. Pushing the boundaries of the phrase "rhetorical question," the '80s icon has covered the Culture Club hit "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me?"

While Sony has confirmed that its casual gaming quiz show host Buzz will be included in the Movie Studio add-on, Hasselhoff appears to be a premium character sold separately. He and his three different outfits (formal wear, bathing suit, and Michael Knight-style jeans and leather jacket) should run gamers $1.99.
