Harry Potter beats Hot Date

Electronic Arts' fantasy adventure game tops the virtual-life game expansion in NPD's latest weekly list of best-selling PC games.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, the action-adventure game from Electronic Arts based on the popular fantasy novel by J.K. Rowling, topped NPD Techworld's latest weekly list of best-selling games. EA's latest virtual-life game expansion, The Sims: Hot Date, slipped from first to second place, followed the virtual-life game itself, The Sims. Infogrames' family-friendly sports game Backyard Basketball took fourth place, followed by Infogrames' Survivor: The Interactive Game, the adventure game based on the popular Survivor reality TV show.
