Halo: Reach beta to attract 3 million-plus - Bungie

@melty3219 you act like it's your franchise. you need to understand that not everyone in the world loves the Halo games. and everyone is entitled to their opinion. and i'd rather play Mario than Halo even though I don't own a Nintendo console. you know why? they're fun and don't take themselves seriously. and they don't pretend to be all revolutionary and groundbreaking.

I'll have to skip and buy Roger Waters: The Wall Live tickets instead.

I would lol if Xbox Live crashed because of the No. of players on the Beta.

I'm gonna have to skip the beta, although I am seriously interested in Reach. I just hope that interest carries through after its release. ODST still looks all right, but the bulk of its value is in the multiplayer, and I tend to be more oriented toward single-player experiences. We'll see.

3 million eh? I'll be one of 'em. :P

time to get that odst out soon for the reach beta.

@BonsaiMet And you have shown us what a Halo hater looks like, and you come into a Halo post to bash Halo yet you call other people immature :P Halo is the 360s flagship title that is why everyone knows the 360 for Halo just like how Nintendo consoles are known for their Mario games.

3 mil? Considering that ODST has sold nearly 5 mil worldwide I'd say thats definitely possible. I'll be 1 of them! :)

@bonsaimet the ps3 isnt much better, they are just as fanatic over god of war as xbox players are about halo. the only reason i dont buy and dislike god of war is because people bash halo for the same reason and then praise their own game. that just pisses me off.

@melty3219 well done for showing us all what a 360 fanboy looks like. btw I do have a 360. I'm just sick of the console only being known for the Halo games. A series which lacks originality in about every way. And I know all the Halo fans will mark me down for what is my opinion but by doing that your just proving how immature you are. So mark away!

Wow the fanboys are on fire today downvoting everyone and bashing Halo... How about you PS3 fanboys go back to watching Spider-man 3 on blu-ray and we 360 owners can go back to playing games because you know, thats what you do on a GAME CONSOLE.

More multiplayer full of pre-pubescent teens, racism and idiocy? I'll pass. Halo 3 was only good for the single player. It's the only game I've played online where I've had to mute all the players. Can't believe Bungie are doing something original too! Thought I'd never see the day.

I liked the original Halo and the cartoon series Red vs Blue, I thought Halo 2 was OK but still the first was better. I didn't buy a 360 so can't really comment on Halo3 (I only played that one-on-one with my mates) I have to say though that ODST seemed interesting setting wise.

May 3rd 2010, Rise of the Spartans ? I love the Halo series always been good fun, I never treated them like the second coming, just what they are well crafted and enjoyable games set in a neat universe.

I'm really looking forward to playing the Beta. I wonder if there will be any new customization options to help players make their spartans more unique?

I understand Bungie wanting to do another game. It's been pretty much just 10 years of Halo Halo Halo for them, but I hope they come back to do at least one more title in the franchise. It would feel wrong for Halo 4 to be from some other studio.

I might 'pop' in and out of this to see what is up......but I don't expect it to be 'good'.......not really a Halo Multiplayer fan.

i'm interested to know what will bunjie's new ip be, after all, it never made any other game (in recent times) i have to say that am gonna miss halo though, Halo 3 was something special

The more people that participate in the beta, the better the final Halo: Reach multiplayer product will be. So keep 'em comin'!

@Sindri0x Here here. You said it perfectly. Also, some people seem to really hate that some people just didnt like a certain Halo game...people have preferences. Well, they need to get over it.

dont they mean 3 million-plus virgins in 24 hour play, the only shoting game i play is uncharted 2 and i only play 2 hours at least, why Bungie making another halo game arent halo3 is enough since they are only playing online, they are all the same gamplay, they should realy make another shoting game, other than the same game again and again, oh well the same with halo3 im gona hack Reach to play on my pc for the single story only.

Well the fanboys sure are coming out in their masses; both Xbox and PS3 geeks alike. Jeez, I hope only owning a PS3 (console-wise) doesn't make me like them. @ PS3 fanboys-Halo is an immensly successful and popular franchise; whining about it won't make a difference. Just because it's one of the most beloved franchises of all time doesn't make it the best, remember. @ Xbox fanboys-Criticising PS3 fanboys because they wail about Xbox exclusives when you all go and flame on God of War and Heavy Rain is really an indication that you should learn to look in the mirror. Anyway, they probably will get those numbers; there's no telling just exactly how popular this game will be when it comes out. It more than likely won't come that close to Modern Warfare 2, but it will still be a spectacle to watch the gamer frenzy when this comes out.

IMO ODST was the 2nd best. People are only hating on it because of the price well get over it. It was great.

I cant wait to play the campaign on this game. lots of comments say down here. that Halo: ODST sucked but the story was awesome.

I hope this game can redeem the Halo franchise,IMO. Halo 3 was ok but Halo ODST was horrible. Can't wait to play this.

I be damned, this might just be the game that bungie and xbox was expecting. Its looking pretty good, more like the original Halo, I have played Halo: CE which was awsome, Halo 2 it was ok not as good as the first one and the third one which sucked. I havent even tried ODST yet cuz it looked like it sucked. btw: I actually own a ps3 but I played the third one on my friends house.

I don't understand all the hate towards Halo... In fact, I don't understand the fanboy thing period. I own a 360, love its exclusives. I own a PS3, love its exclusives, and I love to whip out my Wii on occasion. How can a system fanboy legitimately call themselves a gamer at all if they're not willing to enjoy cool games no matter the system?

Halo ODST has sold around 5 million copies, so thats a pretty good estimate on how many people will be in the beta, hope the beta doesn't have the problems the halo 3 beta had when it arrived. Can't wait to play invasion!

@SolanOcard if you really want to get picky, the AK-47 has been outdated for at least 20 years, there are at least 15 newer variants of it. The same goes for the M16 series. Both weapon systems have evolved, while they maintain the same overall design, they have been changed. If you look at the halo weapons, its more or less the same. The guns in Reach are the basis for the guns in the rest of the games

i think what the haters on here are neglecting to see, is that the reason why bungie keeps churning out halo games, is cos the fans want them. halo and bungie fans are quite loyal. also bungie listens and respects it loyal followers and rewards them. thats why the staffers themselves are promoting the beta.
