Halo: Nightfall Film Release Date Announced [Correction]

the trailer looks good but everyone is saying its bad. What is so bad about it?

if they are really trying to sell this then.. that's funny i really dont like this new spartan.. the fact that he didn't undergo real spartan training makes things meh for me.

If it's anything like Falling Skies I'll pass.

With the names that were attached to this I was shocked it was so bad.

Forward Unto Dawn was much, much better.

Can you fanboys stop loving these garbage mini series just because there's Halo in the title?

I want Powers. It looks gritty. Like maybe dredd or something. It might not have the budget of Nightfall, but it turns out that didn't help.

I feel like half of this was pulled straight out of Prometheus. If you told me to jump to 1:31 and watch from there I'd say it was the sequel to Prometheus no doubt. Looks like the exact same setting, too. Weird.

I have not seen Forward Unto Dawn yet, but from the sounds of things it may be worse than, as bad as, or slightly better than Nightfall. It makes me wonder why these people have such a hard time making an all-around good Halo live-action anything.

As one of the biggest Halo fans on the planet (second only to the enormous fan on Zanzibar Island) I have to say Nightfall was a bit of a disappointment. I liked the early portion, but from the moment they set foot on Halo, it just went downhill from there. They were being hunted by Lekgolo. Last time I checked, Lekgolo aren't that intimidating unless they're in their hunter forms. There's a definite gap between the abilities of the Hunter Colonies between this movie and the rest of the series. Even the Hunter's in FUD weren't this intimidating. Nevertheless, I have the Blu-Ray collector's Edition pre-ordered. I hope they include all of the bonus scenes in the final cut as part of the actual film, but even if they're just in a side menu that's fine with me.

Can't wait to see what Spielberg is cooking up with his Halo show coming this year.

The actor and the character were good. The rest of the movie and the plot were outright ridiculous. Why would an ex Spartan be working as a marine? How can he have children. The Elite just walks right into a mall and drops a bomb and no one there is like wtf is going on? The ship the harvester guys were using was only small enough for two people but didn't they have horses? The slug monsters have never showed up in any other Master Chief lore so where did they come from and how can they survive in an environment like that when they are only programmed to attack the technology the humans are using, which also begs the question if the covenant had that tech why wasn't it used before? CGI was horrible, during the scene with the jump ship dropping the Elite warrior at the lake, the ship never left a wake in the water nor did it cause any of the trees to move from the propulsion of the ship. Forward unto Dawn is the best Halo movie made to date. That anime release years ago had some good stuff but it also had a lot of garbage too. I can tell you right now no one will buy this unless they are bored and its in the bargain bin. Im a huge Halo fan but this was a pathetic cash grab for the series and I'm kinda ashamed of it.

This series was SINCERELY a waist of otherwise valuable time. Anyone who is a Halo fan is almost guaranteed to fall asleep on it. If you want good Halo related material to check out, go watch Forward Unto Dawn or Halo Legends.

Pretty good show. The special effects could use some work, but Locke is an interesting character to follow. The plot was pretty solid.
