Halo 5 Map Being Removed Due to Exploits

Plus, Shotty Snipers weekend playlist runs through Monday.

As part of a new Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer update released today, November 6, developer 343 Industries has pulled the Orion map from all playlists. The studio is doing this to remove exploits and make "additional improvements" to it. The developer didn't say when Orion will be brought back into the mix.

As you can see in this fan video, Orion features an exploit that allows you to ground pound off the map without dying. If you've brought a ranged weapon like the sniper rifle with you, this could give you quite the advantage. It's likely this is one of the exploits that 343 is planning to fix.

In addition to removing Orion, 343 says in a Halo Waypoint blog post that it's working to improve Halo 5 spawn points (and exploits that stem from them) through a future update.

What's more, beginning immediately, Halo 5 players will find a special Shotty Snipers weekend playlist. It will be available through early morning Pacific time on Monday, November 9 and offers increased XP rewards. It's playable on all Arena maps, but not Breakout versions.

Finally, 343 has added 15 new map/gametype combinations to the Halo 5 multiplayer hopper. Check out the list below, with new additions to each playlist written in bold.
